Kenzi + Daniel Studio 207 Boudoir | Tacoma Boudoir Photographer

 Meet Kenzi + Daniel

K + D were first in front of my camera in fall of 2016 for a magical couples maternity session at Rattlesnake Lake in North Bend. Those images are STILL some of my favorites and if you haven't seen them you should check them out! (See them HERE)

This time they came to visit Leslie and I at Studio 207 for a fun and sultry couples boudoir session. The chemistry between K + D is unrivaled! Just seeing the way D looks at K, the subtle way they subconsciously touch to check in with each other and the genuine smiles that they bring to each others face is pretty amazing.

I must admit that my favorite part of the session was the pillow fight! Yes, you heard me right, pillow fight! These two lovebirds brought pillows for a fun and interested addition to their studio boudoir session! It was such a good idea because it allowed them to relax and have fun in front of our cameras which allowed us to capture some real smiles and laughter! Plus we got some great laughs watching them, I was certain that the photos were going to come out blurry because I was laughing so hard!

Couples session are overall so amazing and can be such a great experience. If you are considering doing boudoir but are nervous, why not start with a couples session?? Then you can come see it's not scary like you may think it is!! We promise you'll have fun and get get some amazing, fun and heartfelt photos of you and your lover as well!

I'm super stoked how Kenzi + Daniel's images turned out! We ended up laughing and having a blast and the pictures turned out to be the perfect combination of sexy and fun. Can't wait to have you two in front of my camera again!

Jennifer's Pioneer Park Outdoor Boudoir

Meet Jennifer...

Miss Jen rocked this session! She is fun, smart and all kinds of sexy and her self-confidence just made her even sexier!  Ladies, no matter your body type your best asset will always be your confidence! It beats out boobs and butt in the sexy department any day! Muah!

Ok,  so let's talk about location options...

Outdoors can be a fun -and sexy- location idea for boudoir portraits. As a Pacific Northwest Photographer I feel pretty lucky to be surrounded by such amazing scenery and every time someone inquires about having their boudoir session outside I get giddy with ideas of awesomeness.

Here's just a few of the recent locations I've shot to start your hamster wheels turning..

1. Secluded parks in Tumwater and Olympia

2. Franklin Falls, North Bend

3. Rattlesnake Lake, North Bend

4. Pt. Defiance Park, (wooded location) Tacoma

5. A Beach! Tacoma/Lacey

6. Vantage, WA (amazing dessert with an exotic feel!)

7. Mt. Rainier (YASS to PNW sexiness!)

8. Discovery Park, Seattle

(If you have some additional ideas share them in the comments! We can also discuss indoor alternatives if you aren't one with nature)

P.S. Dear Mother Nature, I don't typically care for rain during photo sessions since it can be rough one hair and make-up but if you could please make a brief appearance with some light rain at the end of each outdoor boudie session (and maybe the occasional engagement) then that would be great.

#causehotdamn

Thanks for having my back,  girl. XOXO

Shannon's Studio 207 Boudoir Session | Tacoma Boudoir Photographer

Hi everyone!

Meet Shannon....

Shannon is important because she was the very first fearless (and sexy) soul to pose in our downtown Tacoma boudoir studio. For those of you who don't know, I've been working closely with Leslie Harris of One Thousand Words Photography on shooting some gorgeous studio boudoir and Shannon was our test run! SO I am excited to announce that Leslie and I are now booking boudoir sessions at our studio! We have a fabulous July Special to get us started. If you are interested in taking advantage of that special or booking a full boudoir experience PM me now!

So let's chat about our studio for a few -with a whole wall of windows, soft even light and white walls our studio is a blank canvas and absolutely perfect for boudoir. I very much appreciate the lack of crazy colors and decorations because it ensures that our clients are the main focus of their images. We do, however, have a bed, pillows, a stool, a red armchair and a few other fun chairs to use during your session. We encourage you to bring an item or two to customize your session. If you are looking for ideas of what to bring to customize your session please check out my blog on what to bring to your session.

To see more boudoir check out my Portfolio and Boudoir Blog and we also have an all female boudoir Facebook group, One Thousand Nights Boudie Babes, that you should head over and join or PM me and I'll add you. OTNBB is a safe group for women ... no men will be accepted and either will any negative, mean or rude comments.

Shannon, you are gorgeous! We had so much fun working with you and we hope to get you back in front of our camera's again some day. Thank you so much!

XOXO,

Sarah

Studio vs. Outdoor Boudoir

When you hear the word 'boudoir', what comes to mind? Super sexy images with black lingerie and high heels? Soft and casual images with a romantic undertone? No matter the style, most likely you think about being posed on a bed in a hotel room or photography studio? Studio, or at least indoor boudoir is the most common type of boudoir these days, but it isn't the only type. As a Pacific Northwest Photographer I am always happy to take advantage of the majestic landscape we have here.... *cue sexy outdoor boudoir picture* and boudoir is no exception!

Both studio and outdoor boudoir have their advantages so lets take a minute to talk them through.

Studio Boudoir

Pros

  • Diffused light from big windows with sheer curtains which creates a soft, flattering and even light on you
  • Silhouette images cause be done as long as there is light outside
  • Can shoot any time of day and have -or create- good light
  • Controlled element which  means you can shoot at any time of day, in any weather (which is convenient for us PNW'ers)
  • Soft simple images... or moody if you prefer
  • More private
  • Conveniently located in downtown Tacoma
  • I know I already said controlled elements but being able to shoot rain or shine is huge so it get's an additional bullet!

Cons

  • Lacks outdoorsy feel and adventure (not a con for everyone)
  • Limited background (instead of a waterfall or woods you're limited to whatever props you choose to use.
  • Parking can be tricky / parking fees may apply depending on availability

Outdoor Boudoir

Pros

  • Option to have moody or soft light
  • Great for adventure seekers because we can make a fun trip of of it!
  • Rain CAN be sexy
  • Endless locations to choose from!
  • Unique
  • Amazing backgrounds
  • The option to shoot in waterfalls or rivers
  • You can control the look of your images by picking certain locations.  A wooded area with lots of trees creates a beautiful moody portrait. A beach can give you soft and airy images.

Cons

  • Can only shoot during certain hours (when the light is soft and flattering)
  • Silhouettes can be done but require more elements to work well
  • Public locations may be crowded
  • Session may have to be rescheduled due to rain, snow or cold weather

Still can't decide?? Ask about the special rate to do both!

Whether you prefer studio boudoir or outdoor boudoir is less important than simply choosing boudoir. As a present for your lover or a self-confidence builder for you, boudoir is an excellent decision for so many reasons. Be bold and don't be afraid to show off your bad-ass beautiful self.

XOXO,

Sarah

Christin's In-Home Boudoir + Milk Bath Session | Tacoma Boudoir Photographer

Meet Christin.

One look at Christin and it's obvious how gorgeous she is but she is so much more than her physical appearance. Christin is originally from Germany and moved to the states a few years ago with her husband. She is a mommy of two, a fellow photographer and one of my partners in crime. Christin is a free spirit with a fun sense of humor and one of my favorite things about her is that she says exactly what is on her mind.

Keep it real girl! You are gorgeous and so very talented. Glad you are my friend and thanks for letting me take these gorgeous images of you.

Rachel's In-Home Maternity Boudoir + Milk Bath Session | Tacoma Boudoir Session

Meet Rachel.

Rachel and I met when I did her and her husband's fun boho maternity session in December. We caught a some what warm day and had such a blast, the photos turned out amazing!!! As a Pacific Northwest Maternity Photographer I am used to December's being pretty tough to schedule because of the rain but after only one reschedule we got lucky with a "nice" winter day. Curious? Check out the blog HERE.

Shortly after that session Rachel and I began to talk about doing a maternity milk bath and I'm so glad we did because look how stunning she is! She absolutely rocked this "human cereal" shoot as her jokester husband like to call milk baths, haha!

It was awesome working with Rachel again, she's so sweet and fun and doesn't pregnancy look AMAZING on her!! Scroll down to bottom to see my most favorite picture!! It was even published on a digital photographer's magazine!
